You bastard! I was hungry yesterday when you started tweeting all this stuff about chilli. I had to go out and get something to eat stat!

I really need to stock up on tequila too, along with the single malts and beer.

Chainsaw? I use a tractor with a bush hog because it tenderizes as it shreds.

I use a special-made chainsaw for cutting my meat. It's lubricated by an oil-based marinade.

Potatoes in chili... Interesting. Do you have this assembled anywhere as an actual recipe?

I actually wrote it down a few years ago...

Ingredients;

2 baking potatoes

4-6 Jalapeno peppers

2 yellow bell peppers

1 white onion

1 red onion

1 bunch scallions (for garnish)

6 cloves garlic

3 limes

15oz can corn

3 28oz cans of diced tomatoes

3 15oz cans of beans

4 oz. Tequila

Six pack of Texas beer

2# ground turkey

2 chili kits (6 gun, 3 alarm, etc.…)

Salt and pepper

Prep:

Dice the potatoes into ½” pieces, and boil until soft.

Coarsely dice the red onion, yellow peppers, and half of the white onion.

De-seed and slice the jalapeno peppers.

Mince the garlic

Juice all the limes but one wedge.

Drink 2 oz. tequila, suck lime wedge (salt is optional)

Preparation:

In the big pot, sauté the jalapeno peppers in oil, the juice of one lime, and two ounces of tequila.

Once the peppers are slightly softened, add both lbs. of ground turkey to the pot to brown.

Once the turkey is browned, add the diced tomatoes, the rest of the lime juice, beans, garlic, all the spice packets from the chili kit (except for the cayenne pepper), salt and pepper. Stir

Add the rest of the diced vegetables, corn, potatoes, and add 6 ounces of Texas beer. Drink the other half and stir.

Simmer, and stir every 20 minutes or so for a few hours drinking another one of the Texas beers until all the vegetables are soft, or all the beer is gone, whichever comes later. Take this time between stirs to add a portion of the cayenne pepper packets, tasting the next time and decide if anymore is needed. I usually only use ¼ of the supplied pepper.

Top with diced white onion, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and chives. Serve.

Thanks! Definitely going to make it soon.

Have you always made chili with potatoes? I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever had it that way.

I just started making it that way one day.

People liked it.

I continued.

I tried broccoli once.

You notice it’s not in the recipe.

So, once you go tuber, you’re likely to... uh... go full goober?

Haha... I could see that ending poorly. Also no kale.
